David Hillson and Ruth Murray-Webster help people to understand their attitudes to risky situations and learn how to change those attitudes that do not support the achievement of objectives.

David and Ruth have written two ground-breaking books on Risk Attitude, addressing both individuals and groups. Understanding and Managing Risk Attitude presents the theory of risk attitudes in a practical way, and uses applied emotional literacy to offer a framework for managing risk attitudes proactively. Managing Group Risk Attitude builds on this and new research to explore factors influencing group decision-making, and develops a new model for ensuring good decisions.

The authors offer a suite of interventions designed to implement the ideas presented in their books. These cover the two key requirements of understanding and managing risk attitude, and address the needs of both individuals and teams.

David's new book Managing Risk in Projects was published by Gower in August 2009. It is part of the Fundamentals of Project Management Series. In December 2009 David recorded a webinar on the topic of risk attitude, its importance and advises on how to manage them. View this webinar here.

Ruth is currently co-authoring a book with Penny Pullan called A Short Guide to Facilitating Risk Management, which is due to be published by Gower in mid 2011. This book will be part of the Short Guides to Business Risk Series.
