Modern projects are all about one group of people delivering benefits to another group and so it's no surprise that the human element is fundamental to project management. The Gower Handbook of People in Project Management is designed as a complete guide to the various human dimensions involved in projects; the people involved in projects - the stakeholders - including those funding or sponsoring the project and those involved in its delivery; the people-issues that are specific to different sectors of organization (public, private and third sector); the organization of people in projects, both real and virtual; the different roles associated with projects; the relationship between people and the project environment; the human behaviours and skills associated with working collaboratively; the HR issues associated with projects including all aspects of how to manage talent for projects.
The Handbook of People in Project Management combines practitioner expertise and applied research from amongst the world's leading authorities on project and people management. The expert editors, Dennis Lock and Lindsay Scott have selected a mix of established best practice as well as more advanced content that draws on emerging knowledge.
Collectively the 59 chapters represent an extraordinary resource of advice and guidance for project managers, project teams and the organizations within which they work.
