I have worked in publishing since 1988, first as
a production editor and later as a freelance copyeditor and writer.
In 2002, I came to Ashgate, where I commission books on literature
and culture. My particular remits are the medieval period and the
period from 1700 to the present. I am committed to collegiality,
and welcome opportunities to meet authors in person at conferences.
My goal is to foster an atmosphere of transparency in the
submission and review process, and prospective authors are
encouraged to ask me questions at any time.
Authors are invited to submit proposals or, if
they are unsure whether their topic is a fit for Ashgate's Literary
Studies list, a letter of inquiry. Proposals may be sent by snail
mail or email. Complete typescripts should not be sent unless
requested. I look forward to hearing from you.
